In their first major announcement since the IPO (IPO) in 2012 can case Facebook announced their latest product called graph searching, Wednesday (16/1/2013).
Chart search, similar to his name, is a product search service (search engine). Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder and CEO, stated, however, that these products differ greatly from the search service owned by Google.
"Web search (search services like Google) designed to locate the query open and gives you a link to the answers that might be true," said Zuckerberg.
"Graph chart is designed for performing a search and gives you the correct answer instead of to give links that can determine the answer," said Zuckerberg.
For example, the user requests a chart can search with queries like "who is a friend of mine who lives in Jakarta?". The system searches automatically, an answer to the question of billions of data in the database of Facebook, not somewhere else.
Users can also perform a search of specific issues, such as "everyone living in Indonesia?" or "what are the restaurants in Jakarta are there?".
In fact, the users of this service can give a question based on your interests, such as "who is the friend of mine who is a fan of Star Wars and Harry Potter?".
Users can also make use of the search graph for the recruitment of employees. For example, if a user wants to find an accountant recently, users can type in the question "who is the profession of accountant in Jakarta?".
Quoted from Tech Crunch, Wednesday (16/1/2013), chart search recently stepped into a limited beta phase begins today.
"We will chart a limited service of the product search at this time, but will start with not too fast. We must get the data of the people who use it, so that we can make the data better. However, we want to the service to more people in a few weeks or months to come, "said Zuckerberg.
